Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows (Client-Managed) May 2021
Qlik Sense Release May 2021
The latest announcement since the February 2021 release does not disappoint and Qlik continues into another year of innovation with May’s release for Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows. Let’s start off with a feature that is going to help all app developers neatly and consistently size and align their sheet objects…
Active chart and grid dimensions
Personally, I have always struggled a bit to resize chart objects to create a symmetrical-looking dashboard in Qlik Sense, especially when the grid view is narrow and the number of grids are many. Say goodbye to endlessly counting grids and coordinates on the sheets! In both SaaS and Qlik Sense On Windows, there is now a new indicator on the bottom right side of chart objects that contains the grid dimensions and coordinates when moving or resizing objects on the sheet. A small win that makes a big difference.
Visualisations
- The video player visualisation is now available on Sense on Windows and it supports YouTube videos.
- Improvements to the combo chart have been made, with enhanced functionality including support for vertical presentation, reference lines, as well as line and bar styling.
Connectivity
- New Qlik Sense Connector for Databricks available on both SaaS and Windows.
- New Azure Synapse Connector in Sense on Windows.
Insight Advisor Chat
- Several enhancements to Insight Advisor in Qlik Sense on Windows including improved narratives in question responses (NLG), a refined user interface for question parsing, and improvements to the search-based analysis.
- Natural language generation (NLG) – Visual charts generated by Insight Advisor Search now have a new option to view narrative insights and interpretations of the data.
Platform and Administration
- Create and edit tasks in the hub in Sense on Windows.
- ODAG performance enhanced by increasing the maximum ODAG requests from 10 to 50, making it easier for large user groups to leverage ODAG together.
Mobile
- Support for Microsoft Edge mobile browser on iOS and Android.
