Ometis Make Permanent Move To Remote Working

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted many businesses to consider their working environments and practices – this is no different here at Ometis, with employees remote working since the beginning of lockdown.

We have had to adapt quickly in order to provide the best service possible to our customers during these unprecedented times. We have sought to bolster our industry-leading Qlik support through our new online Qlik training programme. This is launching this month and is available to all Ometis customers, offering access to a variety of Qlik training to suit their needs at a significantly reduced rate.

The coronavirus situation has given us the chance to reflect on this transition and consider what is in the best interest of our employees and customers. We have come to the decision that the best way to move forward is to continue remote working indefinitely.

Working from home gives us the opportunity to work much more flexibly, allowing employees to cater for childcare needs while significantly reducing the time and money spent on commuting, which is in turn of benefit to the environment.

We accept that this decision will present certain challenges and we want to be able to communicate with our customers and with each other as effectively and efficiently as possible. Face-to-face interactions have already been replaced with interactive virtual meetings, we hope this is just a short term measure and we can see our clients in the near future, with this in mind we have opted for a virtual office presence in London. We have always been proud of our workplace culture at Ometis and we want to retain as much of that social interaction and camaraderie as possible. We plan to have monthly/quarterly company meetings combined with social events where we can have more of a focus on sharing things between departments, while we will continue to encourage social activities for the company when we are finally able to see each other again.
