Qlik NPrinting September 2019
Qlik NPrinting September 2019 has brought a smile to my face for three reasons. In order, an entire Qlik Sense sheet can be added as an image, Select Excluded in filters and Objects in Qlik Sense containers are now supported. Let’s take a deep dive into each of these.
QLIK NPRINTING SEPTEMBER 2019
Select Excluded values
When creating filters you will now see the Select excluded checkbox.
This closes off yet more gap functionality to Qlik NPrinting 16 and makes your report-life a lot easier, allowing you to quickly flip a selection on its head. This is extremely handy when you want to select all but a few values.
Qlik Sense Sheets as images
It is now possible in Qlik NPrinting September 2019 to add an image of a whole Qlik Sense sheet. This is something our customers have been screaming for. Enabling developers to capitalise on the investment of creating their Qlik dashboards, NPrinting can now quickly distribute Qlik dashboards to internal and external recipients.
When adding an image, in the object list, sheets will appear side-by-side with other Qlik objects. The Name will be the Qlik Sense sheet title and the ID will be prefixed with an ‘S\’, for sheet.
In order for your sheet to display at its best quality, it is well worth setting the Data displayed height and width to that of your screen you develop with. As an example, my screen resolution is 1920 x 1080, below is how it looks in Qlik Sense on my screen:
And here is an example output: NPrinting Sheet Image.
Please note, this feature requires Qlik Sense February 2019 or newer, and connection caches must be refreshed after Qlik NPrinting upgrade.
Objects in Qlik Sense containers are now supported
All the objects in a container are added in the related connection cache and can be added in the template nodes (image, table, etc.) that support them based on the visualisation type.
Summary
Qlik NPrinting September 2019 release is a quality release. The ability to add Qlik Sense sheets as images makes its upgrade all the more appealing. The product team of NPrinting have been on a roll recently, making small but mighty additions to the product. Let’s hope this continues into November’s release and into 2020.
