The Qlik NPrinting April 2019 Release is out at the same time as the wider Qlik Sense April 2019 Release. In this latest update for Qlik NPrinting, we have one new feature – Task Notifications.

Task Notifications in Qlik NPrinting April 2019

Task Notifications can be configured from the Qlik NPrinting web console. This will notify administrators in the event of a task failure, warning and/or success, based on the settings. The specified users will receive an email with a link to the task executions pages where they can view the log file of the task.

There are two new sections added to the Settings page of the Qlik NPrinting web console for the Qlik NPrinting April 2019 release. These are described below:

Qlik NPrinting April 2019 Release – System

Here you set the URLs of the Qlik NPrinting Web Console and the Qlik NPrinting NewsStand. These URLs will be used to generate the link in the task notification emails. Therefore, do not overlook these.

In the task section, you can set the criteria for when to send a task notification and to whom. For example, you can send a task notification on error, warning and/or success. The task notification can be distributed to one or more email addresses.

It is also possible to specify email distribution error settings. As of Qlik NPrinting April 2019, you can control how Qlik NPrinting handles the distribution of reports when one or more reports fail or if a variable tag cannot resolve. All these options offer greater control over the distribution of static reports and is a welcomed feature which was previously missing compared to its predecessor, Qlik NPrinting 16.

It’s also worth mentioning there are 12 bug fixes included in this release which can be viewed in the release documentation.

It’s great to see Qlik NPrinting 17 close off more gap features to Qlik NPrinting 16, albeit slowly and in small doses. Hopefully, we will start to see some new innovation and the remainder of the gap functionality closed throughout 2019.
