The Qlik Analytics Tour is one of my favourite events of the year and our latest instalment at the Belfry Resort reminded me why this annual gathering is such an important part of the Ometis calendar.
The Qlik Analytics Tour may have a new name for 2019 but it’s a revamped version of the Qlik Sense Tour and it’s always a privilege to hold the Birmingham event as Ometis. The Qlik Analytics Tour is now a global programme and based on feedback from our 80+ delegates and Qlik representatives in attendance I’m comfortable in stating that our event was one of the best in the entire tour.
For me, that was all down to the excellent customer panel, which allowed attendees the chance to quiz existing Qlik customers and users about their experiences working with the innovative business intelligence platform. This year, our customer panel included Tony Saunders from Direct Line Group, Jordan Watson from Humming Tech and Geoff Barraclough, Head of BI for Healthcare at Home.
We heard from Tony Saunders about how Direct Line are using Qlik to drive analytics for their new Best4Customer programme. Jordan Watson explained how he recommends Qlik to his customers due to its speed of development and flexibility. We also heard from Geoff Barraclough about how Healthcare at Home use the full suite of Qlik products to deliver internal and external insights around their portfolio of 180,000 patients – a number larger than any individual NHS trust.
The Ometis customer panel offers attendees the chance to hear first-hand how Qlik is being used by businesses across an array of sectors in the UK. This hands-on experience and insight from everyday Qlik users is invaluable and it’s always a thrill to see the crowd’s reaction as they hear about the panels’ wow moments with Qlik Sense.
The other highlight is more ongoing, and that’s seeing the Qlik community coming together to discuss how they’re utilising the platform and what business processes have been evolved as a direct response to the data Qlik Sense is showing.
With the regular Qlik Sense releases throughout the year, as well as QlikView and Qlik NPrinting updates, it’s hard to stay on top of the latest features and functionality within the platform. That’s why events like the Qlik Analytics Tour are so important. They provide an opportunity for people to catch up on the latest developments, understand how they’re being used and hear about potential pitfalls and how to avoid them.
That’s because the Qlik community is very powerful. At Ometis, we’re very proud of how the Qlik community helps each other overcome problems and consistently offers insight into complex and important processes and protocols. For us at Ometis, the community is one of the defining USPs that separates Qlik from its competitors.
If you couldn’t make it to the Qlik Analytics Tour, don’t despair. Ometis can help with all your Qlik queries, so get in touch and we’ll be happy to answer any of your questions about how the Qlik Platform can help your business unlock the insights hidden away in your data.
Now we’re looking forward to next year’s event but there’ll be plenty of Qlik and Ometis news before then, so make sure you follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube for all the latest news.
